Materials
At ATEX Technologies, we work with a myriad of materials sourced specifically from suppliers who support the medical device industry with the same level of care that we expect of ourselves. As trusted textile manufacturing specialists for medical applications, this attention to detail and “total systems view” of supply chain inputs allows ATEX to minimize the risk associated with outsourced materials, contributing to greater peace of mind for our customers. We invest heavily in all development and scale production inputs, knowing that delivering high-quality engineered components requires operational excellence at all stages in the process. In addition, ATEX goes a step further by ensuring that it is fully vertically integrated with respect to our most prominent material, PET (polyester). With our state-of-the-art extrusion process, we exemplify the commitment to producing implantable textiles for critical healthcare sector needs, providing complete traceability from polymer chip through final component, as well as ultimate control over fiber and yarn characteristics and performance.
Yarn Extrusion and Processing
ATEX extrudes its own PET fiber along with many other thermoplastic polymers in house, customizing it to meet your design requirements. We can control the properties of the yarn, and ultimately the component, by expertly man aging the entire process ensuring performance and uniformity. WE EVEN HAVE A MASTER FILE ON OUR PET MATERIAL.
Manufacturing
ATEX has years of experience BRAIDING, WEAVING, KNITTING and created NON-WOVENS but that is JUST THE BEGINNING. It is our unique understanding of how to manipulate and optimize these technologies that produces great results. PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT IS UTILIZED FOR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES SO THERE ARE NO SCALE UP ISSUES!
Fabrication
OUR EXPERTISE GOES FAR BEYOND OUR CORE TECHNOLOGIES. We can finish, form, mark, coat and dye the structures we manufacture to further optimize performance and provide an edge over the competition.
The following is a list of the most common materials processed here at ATEX. If you are interested in creating a component with a raw material not listed here, please reach out to us to discuss your specific project needs.
At ATEX, we extrude customized polyester (PET) and other thermoplastics multifilament & monofilament medical grade yarns for implantable medical devices. We begin with the polymer chip and end with your medical textile component.
Our extruded yarns range in size from 8 denier to 150 denier. Larger yarns are possible through plying. Choosing the right one for your unique component will depend upon the job the component is designed to do, its overall shape, desired construction and even the space in which the component will be housed or perform.
In addition to our in-house manufactured PET, we also work with many other polymers, metals and dyes. Please review the following list for examples. And, if you do not see a material listed here that you are interested in, please contact us to discuss…
